Could you introduce yourself and give us a brief overview of your role and responsibilities at Bombay Softwares?

Hi, I'm Farhan Shaikh, a Staff Software Engineer (SDE-3) at Bombay Softwares. I joined Bombay Softwares in 2018 as a Fresher Android Developer, and over the years, I've had the opportunity to learn and grow within the company.

In my role, I lead the Mobile Developers team, overseeing project management, and technical leadership, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.

I'm responsible for communicating with clients, creating task lists, leading the technical aspects of projects, and conducting code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.

What inspired you to pursue a career in the IT industry, and how did you land at Bombay Softwares?

My passion for computers and software engineering since childhood inspired me to pursue a career in the tech industry.

During my college years, I developed an Android app called Al Quran ul Kareem, which gained attention and helped me secure a position at Bombay Softwares as an Android developer.

The company's reputation for supportive work culture and opportunities for career growth attracted me to join the team.

What is the most appealing aspect of being part of the BS team?

The most appealing aspect of being part of the BS team is the supportive work culture. There is no bossy culture or office politics, allowing for a collaborative and conducive environment for learning and growth.

The emphasis on work-life balance and long vacations provides employees with the necessary flexibility to maintain a healthy lifestyle while pursuing their professional goals.

Could you share a project that you take immense pride in?

One project that I take immense pride in is the development of mobile apps for the fitness industry using ML and AI technologies.

These apps have the potential to make a significant impact on people's lives by helping them track their fitness goals and make informed decisions about their health and wellness.

Additionally, I'm proud of my contribution to mobile apps that provide a platform for the college ecosystem, facilitating communication and collaboration among students, faculty, and administrators.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

Outside of work, I dedicate my time to social and religious activities aimed at motivating youth and contributing to the betterment of society. I develop apps and websites for communities for social causes, leveraging my skills for impactful projects.

Additionally, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and exploring new places, such as my memorable visits to Dubai and Mecca-Madina (SA) with my better half.
